Vintage hats, entertainment, and a little bit of history

Mad Men, The Great Gatsby, and Beautiful Flappers  feature vintage hats. Those movies/shows carefully depict fashion during a certain era. While Beautiful Flappers  and The Great Gatsby are from the '20s, Mad Men creates beautiful ensembles from head to toe to match the decade...the roaring '20s!

The 1920s featured the the popularity of the cloche hat (invented by Caroline Reboux in 1908) and floppy hats. Women did not walk out the house without a hat, nor being fully accessorized. Check out the Art Deco Society of California to learn about "How to Gatsby". The website provides in detail how women accessorized in the '20s and '30s.

Creating an everyday outfit inspired by the past is one of my favorite things to do. It’s super easy to find modern clothes that can closely fit the vintage look and online shopping makes it easier to find true vintage items. I’ve been browsing online and found Hat Covet (facebook: hatcovet), which is headquartered in Pennsylvania. They have SO many hats and accessories ranging from the '20s - '90s.

Sometimes I wish I could travel back in time to experience the fashion of each decade.
