Let's Destress Now with Shaniece.

We are currently in love with Shaniece Hairston. You might know her as Evelyn Lozada daughter but this girl is making waves in the fashion industry. I recently checked out her website Shaniece Hairston, which gives us an insight on her life. She has become one our new Muses at MuseMe. Here is a great article on her ways to distress!  Makes sure you check out her website!

1. Yoga: No matter what my mom thinks, yoga will always be one of my favorite ways to release stress. It is just so calming and also keeps my body fit!
2. Deep Breathing: I’m big on breathing techniques when I’m feeling anxious or stressed. I find a place where I feel at peace and I just breathe in through my nose and out though my mouth. Even if you can’t find a place that is relaxing, it will still help to take some long breaths. That’s one of the best things about this technique, it can be done anywhere, any time!
3. Meditation: Meditation is really simple and has been proven to really work! Just find a comfortable place, close your eyes, relax your muscles and focus on one thing. It can be your breathing, an object, or just a picture in your mind. Even just 10 minutes of this can do wonders. Just stay focused and not let distractions enter your mind!
4. Get a Massage: Getting a massage is a great way to get relaxed. I especially love going to Thai or Korean spas, they definitely have some great massage methods and techniques!
5. Workout: This is a major stress reliever for me. It’s all about releasing those endorphins! It’s even better that beyond just making me feel better, I can see results physically! I used to hate running, but now I find it to be a great way to clear my head and get energized at the same time.
6. Take A Walk: Just being outside and breathing in fresh air can do a lot! It will help clear your head and also boost endorphins. I love finding parks or green spaces to walk to in order to enjoy my surroundings to the fullest!
7. Hang Out With Friends: Sometimes all you need is to hang out with friends and laugh! My friends always know the right things to say! Playing with my baby brother Leo is also a way I like to destress.
8. Snack: I wrote a blog post on the best foods to eat while you’re stressed and I still reference it all the time! I already pay attention to what I put in my body anyways but sometimes I’ll purposely eat some foods that are anti-stress to give my body that extra boost!
9. Listen to Music: Music is definitely a huge part of my life and I’ll always choose songs depending on my mood! And sometimes a dance party is the best solution!
10. Take a Bath: Taking a long bath with no distractions is a great way to just relax. Soak in some bubbles and come out feeling clean and refreshed!
11. Sleep: Sometimes you just have to literally recharge and have a restful sleep! Through your busy days, make sure that you’re not sacrificing any beauty sleep because it can really hurt in the long run.
So those are some of my favorite ways to release some stress, which is just a normal part of life! Just keep these methods in mind to combat it and go on and tackle the world!

MuseMe Icon. Priyanka Chopra

"I think it’s great to be flawed. I am hugely flawed, and I like it that way. That’s the fun of life. You fall, get up, make mistakes, learn from them, be human and be you"

We have a little crush on our latest MuseMe Icon; Priyanka Chopra. She is beyond gorgeous and brilliant. She is an icon in Bollywood and has become the first South Asian actresses leading a major network show on ABC Quantico. Also our guilty pleasure and our favorite Sunday night TV show!

Dry Skin is the worst.

So do you suffer from dry skin in the wintert season? Oh, the cold weather is the worst for me! My skin hates it!! This weather causes these nasty dry patches around my nose and forehead area.

Here is why dry skin comes out in the winter:

While the harshness outside might bring a rosy glow to your cheeks and nose, the freezing temperatures and low humidity can also leave your skin dried out, flakey or itchy. This being said, the worst culprit when it comes to seasonal dry skin isn’t the temperature outdoors; it’s inside your own home. Cold weather outside results in you turning the heat on inside, which ultimately dries out your skin regardless of the way in which you heat your home.

My favorite wellness and beauty blog HBFIT.com has gave some tips on how to help your skin look amazing in the winter! Hannah Bronfman, will always be our favorite blogger! Here are a few tips! Hopefully this will help you and me!!
Winter Dry Skin Remedies
Dry skin isn’t something you can prevent, exactly, but with a few smart tips in mind, you’ll notice it’s looking brighter during those long, dark days.
·       Switch to an oil-based or gel moisturizer: While a water-based moisturizer is perfect and lightweight for the spring and summer months, it might not be enough to get your skin through the winter. Instead, switch to an oil-based moisturizer like Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel.
·       Wash with warm water: It might feel nice to wash with hot water and steam your pores after a day in the cold, but this can actually lead to a breakdown of your natural oils, which will only make your dryness worse. Instead, stick with comfortably warm water.
·       Moisturize more frequently: While you may be used to moisturizing twice a day, once in the morning and once before bed, it’s completely normal—and recommended—to moisturize more frequently during the winter months. Consider adding a mid-day moisturizer to your routine.
·       Dab instead of rub: If you haven’t started this yet, now is the perfect time! As it turns out, rubbing moisturizer into the skin actually results in the majority of your cream penetrating into your fingertips, not your face. Instead of rubbing, dab your moisturizer onto your face.
·       Exfoliate lightly: Exfoliate your skin, but do so sparingly and gently. Exfoliating can help combat dry skin during the winter as it removes the layer of dead skin from the surface, allowing your moisturizer to penetrate deeper into the skin. Over-exfoliating, however, can lead to more dryness and irritation. Try exfoliating once a week during the winter and consider using a professional at-home tool like the Clarisonic.

Sue Tsai. Our Generation of An Artist.

Recently I’ve been trying to remodel my bedroom. I want to showcase more of my personality but keep the furniture minimalist but add artwork that gives that street style vibe.
After a few weeks of research I came across the artist Sue Tsai and fell in love with her work! Sue Tsai, is an artist born and raised in NYC. Her work is bold and edgy. She incorporates all the aspects of fashion, art and pop culture.  (All of my favorite things!) Her fan base is widely known in the art and music world.  Her flavor of work has attracted the eyes from everyone in the art world to hip hop. The word "Artparel" is from her expansion of incorporating art in merchandise and  accessories.
All of her pieces are great for the young generation of art lovers. Its affordable and defines our generation in visual form. Here are a few of my favorites!

Check out her Instagram!
