The Guru of Weddings

It’s Wedding Time. It’s the season of weddings and we all need to be prepared! What are the do and dont of wedding attire. Lauren Conrad the Guru of Weddings has provided us with the best advice.

Please Do:
·       Do opt for pretty, romantic looks. A wedding is a celebration of love, so keep that theme in mind when you’re deciding what to wear. Think floral prints, crepe, ruffles, and lace. Edgy, sultry, or even overly fashion-forward ensembles should be reserved for other occasions.
Do wear your dancing shoes. You want to look chic and put together, but you also want to be able to dance the night away with the couple. So make sure that whatever shoes you pair with your outfit are the perfect mix of style and comfort. Wedges, mid-height heels, dressy sandals, and even chic ballet flats are all good options. If you really want to wear sky-high heels for the ceremony and cocktail hour, I suggest stashing a pair of flats in your bag for later in the night. Some couples are even providing flip-flops for their guests, which is what I did. If flip-flops aren’t provided for you, however, stick with flats, as flip-flops could be considered too casual for a more elegant event.
Do take note of the dress code. If a couple goes to the trouble of listing the dress code on their invitation or wedding website, take note. If no dress code is listed, you can usually infer how dressy a wedding will be based on the venue. Beach weddings, for instance, tend to be cocktail attire or dressy casual, while ballroom weddings call for more-formal attire.
·

Please Don’t:
Don’t wear white. You would think this rule wouldn’t need repeating, but you’d be surprised. Almost every wedding I’ve attended has had a guest or two who could have used a little wedding etiquette refresher. The bottom line is this: Let the bride stand out from the rest of the crowd. Since more and more brides are opting for a hint of color these days, it’s best to avoid cream, blush, and any variation of eggshell in addition to bright white. If I don’t know what the bride is wearing and how she feels about the matter, I personally like to stay away from subtle prints with a white background too, just to be safe.
Don’t wear anything overly sexy or revealing. This is not the time or place for that! Weddings are family celebrations, so if it’s not something you would wear in front of your own grandmother, don’t dress that way in front of your friend’s grandmother either.
Don’t wear anything that is terribly uncomfortable or waiting to be a wardrobe malfunction. It's a shame to spend the entire evening pulling your strapless dress up or having to skip a beautiful meal because your dress is much too tight!
Now that you have my wedding dress code rules, here are a few of my favorite dresses to wear to a wedding this summer.

Yes, you can workout on the go.

Time is of the essence and even if we have routines, they don’t always make it into our schedules. Online fitness videos allow more flexibility into our daily lives. If you’re going on vacay, it’s also hard to maintain your fitness routines. So, as you know, I’m a huge sucker for finding amazing workout videos on YouTube. But recently, I’ve discovered something better.
Meet FitnessGlo, a monthly subscription based website with over 600 video classes to stream. It’s $12 per month and they offer a 15-day free trial.

I’m sure you’ll find a class that piques your interests. The site offers a huge range of classes, such as barre, pilates, yoga fusion, cardio, strength, and HIIT.
My workout interests fall under the yoga/barre/pilates sector and I tend to forget about cardio. One of the best parts of FitnessGlo is their Schedule & Goals section. This section shows how balanced your workouts are. FitnessGlo says, “To maintain balance, the average woman should aim for 55% cardio (I need more of this!!), 30% strength, and 15% stretch in her workouts.”
FitnessGlo will take note of what classes you’re taking, tell you what you need more of (whether it be cardio, strength, or stretch), and you can schedule classes accordingly to maintain your balance. So cool, right?!

I found a bunch of amazing classes on the website. If you’re going to give FitnessGlo a try, I recommend these:

  • Yoga Fusion – On the Go Flow
  • Barre – Killer Barre for Body Sculpting
  • Strength / Core – Multi-Angle Core Challenge
  • Pilates – Lift Your Bottom & Tighten Your Core
  • Stretch – Dancer’s Stretch & Flow

So we love chocolate chip cookies.

Hi, I’m Melissa and I have addiction…I’m addicted to chocolate chip cookies.
Not just any chocolate chip cookie, but THIS AllRecipes cookie recipe. It’s called Absolutely The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies.
I use this recipe, but I have some small changes to it. Here’s my take on AllRecipe’s Absolutely The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe:

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup white sugar (recipe calls for 1 cup, but I cut it down a little)
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour (I like unbleached flour, sometimes I do 1.5 cups all purpose and 1.5 cups almond flour)
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons hot water
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk chocolate chips (recipe calls for semisweet, I just prefer milk chocolate
Optional: chopped walnuts (recipe lists walnuts, but I leave them out)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
  3. Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.
Chewy centers and crispy edges. Let me tell you!!! They really are absolutely the best!
So anyway…Last month I was trying to be extra healthy and I cut out chocolate chip cookies out of my life. Not good.
You know what happened?
One night I couldn’t take it anymore. I pulled up this recipe then totally binged on like 15 cookies.
At first it was so freaken delicious. Afterwards I felt gross and sick. Literally sick to my stomach. Ew ew ew.
Lesson learned. Do NOT NOT NOT deprive myself from chocolate chip cookies.
Snacking is fine and we all have cravings…so why not treat yourself? Just enough so that you def don’t end up doing what I did. Opps. :X
Because everything’s about balance, ya know?

Hair weave killer

Yes, we all have wanted or  have had extensions in your hair.  All types of extensions are now possible from clips in, to sew in to fusions. You can now switch up your hair at anytime. Whatever you called them from  extensions to weaves it all is the same thing, which is extra hair! Whatever the cause of your need to super-size your strands, nothing offers instant gratification like hair extensions Refinery 29 offered some great tips and the background of extensions.  Here are few tips that will provide you on the essence of becoming a hair weave killer.

1.“The best human-hair extensions are 100% virgin hair-The Rolls Royce of extensions is 100% virgin Remy double-drawn hair. “Remy means all the cuticle is intact and all the hair is facing the same direction.

2. You have options:
-Bonded extensions fuse individual pieces to your hair using heat. RPZL uses ultrasound, however. These can be the most costly, but last the longest.

-Tape extensions attach to your hair in adhesive strips. They can be more affordable, but require maintenance to adjust the strips.

-Weaves are sewn into your braided hair. These tend to be the most affordable option, and will last about three months.

-Clip-ins attach to your hair with combs. You can easily place and remove them, making them ideal for special occasions and short-term wear.

When finally buying the hair goes to your  safest option and  goes with a trusted expert! Talk to legit hair salons and make sure they know exactly the look you are going for and show them your vision! Also make sure you do your research!

Later this month we will show you our favorite hair places that we go to get our hair done from monthly up keep, to extensions and to dramatic color changes.

Can we just date?

Dating. This word can bring out so many emotions within a few minutes. Either you love, hate it or have officially given up on it. Seriously, when has dating become this "project"? You have rules and regulations. All you really want to know CAN WE JUST DATE? I am so sick and tired of the rules when it comes to dating. Elite Daily pointed out some dating rules that we need to break up with. Here are a few that we at MuseMe think we all should break up with NOW!

1. Using Facebook to make things official or unofficial.- Lets be honest, your moms best friend and your high school teacher do not care if you and your new boo are "official" or when you guys break up for the seventh time within the past few weeks.  If we both know its official lets just be happy with that.
2. Having an argument over text.- Yes, we all have been guilty of this crime. Just pick up the phone or meet up and stop waiting for your phone to pop up with those little "bubbles" waiting for their response. It’s annoying and you will give yourself a heart attack waiting for that response.
3. Giving up if they don’t “give it up” on the third date.- Your body, mind and soul your choice. No rule should be in place for when you are ready!
4. Millennials using joint Facebook accounts.-PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS--if I need to explain why not then you know you are not ready to break up with the "rules".

Do you have any rules that you personally are sick and tired of in the world of dating?
